A defamation case filed by BJP Leader MJ Akbar against journalist Priya Ramani, a Delhi court on Tuesday announced that it had no jurisdiction in the matter.
Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Vishal Pahuja has been hearing Akbar’s defamation case, the one who was accused of sexual harassment at the Rouse Avenue court for the past two years
At the hearing of the case Pahuja said that the matter will be now listed before a District and Sessions judge to determine jurisdiction. 14 October will determine if the case will be shifted to another court or not.
Ramani had earlier accused Akbar of sexual harassing her nearly 20 years ago. Later, atleast 20 women accused MJ Akbar of sexual misconduct during #MeToo movement. After the allegations, MJ Akbar was made to resign as minister from the government. But he still continues to be a Rajya Sabha MP from the BJP.
